Constance Marie (Geary) Spillar

Constance Marie (Geary) Spillar (affectionately known as Baba), 92, of Moneta, Virginia, formerly of Latrobe, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital.

Born on August 11, 1933, in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Michael N. Geary and Anna M. (Vadas) Geary. Connie was the loving wife of the late Andrew W. Spillar.

She was a faithful member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Latrobe. Prior to her retirement, Connie worked as a registered nurse at Latrobe Area Hospital. She had a generous heart and loved baking all kinds of goodies, which she delighted in sharing with everyone she could. She also crocheted for many years, gifting her handmade creations to family and friends. Baba will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Janet Calabrese and her husband Pete; her brother, Ronald N. Geary and his wife Giovanna; and two nephews, Ronald Geary and Patrick Calabrese.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda M. Schott and husband Jeffrey of Moneta, Virginia; two grandchildren, Justine M. Sowers and Christopher of Moneta, Virginia, and Joel J. Schott and wife Sara of Scottsville, Virginia; two great-grandchildren, Lincoln C. Sowers and Kennedy M. Sowers; and several nieces and nephews.

At Connie’s request, there will be no public visitation. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Lake Christian Ministry, Moneta, Virginia.
