Cora Parcell Reynolds, age 84 of Rocky Mount died Thursday, December 20, 2007 at her residence.
She was born June 3, 1923, daughter of the late Major Carson and Annie Scott Parcell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford W. Reynolds; brother, Walter Carson Parcell; three sisters, Frances Scott Parcell, Blanche Louise Parcell, Margaret Parcell Fralin.
She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church for many years were she served as Deacon Emeritus and served on various committees for many years. She retired from Virginia Department of Transportation with 42 years of service.
Surviving are two brothers and a sister-in-law, William M. Parcell and John L. and Judy Parcell; sisters, Anne P. Parcell, Hazel P. Williams; sister-in-law, Mary W. Parcell; brother-in-law, Henry F. Fralin; caregivers, Betty H. Hood, Bonnie H. Altice and Chrystal A. Berg.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel, 2 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2007 with Rev. Thomas C. Siddle and Rev. T. Ivey Adams, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 3907, Martinsville, VA 24115.
The family respectfully requests no food.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday with her family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
