Coy C. Janney, Jr.

Coy C. Janney, Jr., age 78 of Boones Mill, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, November 1, 2023. Coy was a retired employee of N&W Railroad, and was a Master Carpenter. He was a member of Clearbrook Baptist Church, and a longtime supporter of Rick Via and The World Reach Partnerships. Coy was preceded in death by his parents, Coy C. Janney, Sr. and Peggy Thornhill Janney. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ellen Simmons Janney; children, John Kevin Janney and Tonya Leigh Janney (Gray Turner); brother, Ronnie Lee Janney (Sarah Hartman Janney); sister, Linda Janney Dillon; grandchildren, Abigail Grace Janney and Emma Leigh Janney; and many four-legged friends. Special thanks to his nephew, Kerry A. Dillon, Jr. for the absolute best care and support anyone could have hoped for. The family would also like to thank Dr. Mark Swanson for his excellent care of Coy over the years, but especially his aid during the final days of his life. Funeral services will be conducted at the graveside, Mountain View Memorial Park, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023 with Dr. Bryan Ratliff and Rev. Jim Steele officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Clearbrook Baptist Church (5219 Singing Hills Road, Roanoke, VA 24014) or the World Reach Partnerships (P.O.
