Coy Charlie Janney, Sr.

Coy Charlie Janney, Sr., 87 of Boones Mill, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Peggy Thornhill Janney; and his parents, Walter Roy Janney and Grace Neighbors Janney. He is survived by his sons, Coy C. Janney, Jr. (Ellen), Ronnie Lee Janney (Sarah); daughter, Linda Marie Janney; grandchildren, Kevin & Tonya Janney and Rhonda McFalls (Kenneth), Kerry Dillon, Jr. and April (Jerry) Bond; four great-grand-children, Samuel and Katherine McFalls and Abigail and Emma Janney. Coy served in the U.S. Army and was considered a master carpenter. He loved his Lord, his family, his Masonic Lodge and his Boones Mill Baptist family. Funeral services will be conducted from Boones Mill Baptist Church 11 a.m. Monday with Dr. Richard D. Harrell, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park with graveside rites by Isaac’s Lodge #29 A.F. & A.M. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Building Fund at Boones Mill Baptist Church, 10 Whispering Creek Rd., Boones Mill, VA. 24065. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
