Curtis Hooker Stanley, age 70 of Rocky Mount peacefully went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 13, 2011. He was born January 8, 1941 a son of the late Owen Hooker and Erma Teman Stanley. Hooker was currently employed with Rocky Mount Supply Company. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Bonnie Mattox Stanley; he was a wonderful father and best friend to his son, Travis Whitney Stanley; granddaughter, Whitney Lynn Stanley; three brothers and their spouses, Jimmy O. and Juanita Stanley, John W. and Brenda Stanley, Mark D. Stanley; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Earl and Mattie Mattox, Bobby and Marilyn Mattox, Mike Mattox, Ralph and Shelby Sink, Dixie Marcum, Jerry and Mitzi Hill; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Central Grace Church 1 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Paul Mahan officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
