Curtis Lee Young, age 76 of Ferrum died Friday, July 11, 2008.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea.
Mr. Young was born October 25, 1931 a son of the late Charles “Hub” and Minnie Spencer Young. He was also preceded in death by his wife Carrie Lee Young; a daughter, Joyce Young; and a brother, Sterling Young.
Mr. Young is survived by his children, Jeanette LaPrade, Charles Terry Young, Robert Curtis Young (Tammy Jamison); grandchildren, Vickie Brizendine, Brett Young, Julie Arrington, Jamie Fields and Kym Jamison; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Ruth, Pearl Santrock, Margaret Cooper, Betty Blankenship and Josephine Micolupo; brothers, Junior Young and Claudie Young.
Funeral services will be conducted from Ferrum First Church of the Brethren 2 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2008 with Rev. Leonard Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Boyd – Young Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ferrum Vol. Rescue Squad, c/o Capt. Lisa McCaul, 1392 Jamison Mill Road, Henry, VA 24102.
The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12 Noon at the church.
