Daisy Christine Wray Hodges, age 95 of Rocky Mount, Va. born October 14, 1914 went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 28, 2010. Daisy resided in Rocky Mount all her life, she was a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church and a past member of Oak Grove Church of the Brethren where she loved teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir. While her husband served in World War II she worked at R.O.W. now MW Manufacturing building ammunition boxes. She later worked for N&W Overall factory and Guyer Roberts Manufacturing. She was a wonderful mother who considered each one of her children a special blessing. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, gardening, singing and playing the guitar. She was the daughter of the late Joel Lotrus and Marinda Carol Wray and was also preceded in death by her husband, Tony Hodges, Sr.; and a daughter, Peggy Morris. Surviving are two sons and daughter-in-law Tony (Buzzy) Hodges of Martinsville, Va., Ronald (Ron) Hodges and Peggy, six daughters and sons-in-law; Audrey Reece, Judy and Rabon Bussey, Mary and Jack Tuttle, Carmen Sarver of Roanoke, Va., Pat and Dave Martin of Greensboro, NC., Donna Mitchell; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from Franklin Heights Baptist Church 3 p.m. Sunday with Rev. J. Larry Holland officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
