Danny Boone Brown

Danny Boone Brown, age 64 of Rocky Mount passed away at his home on Sunday, June 6, 2021, surrounded by his family after a short bout of pancreatic cancer. He was predeceased in death by his father, Jack Brown; and step-father, Denton Flora. He is survived by his son, Devin Alexander Brown, mother of his child and gracious caregiver, Kathy Perdue; mother, Kate Aker Flora; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Teresa Brown; niece and her family, Heather, Brian, Corbin and Kai Fidler; nephew, Dustin Brown; step-brother and wife, Larry and Nancy Flora; step-nephew and family, Matt and Monica Flora, Bella, Lucy and Charlsie; aunts, uncles and cousins. Danny graduated from Franklin County High School and Ferrum College earning a Degree of Associates in Arts. He worked at Standard Register, for what he would describe as a lifetime, and developed many close buddies, many of them visiting him during his brief illness to reminisce about their good times together in the workplace and outside of there. He was very competitive in softball, foosball, bowling, golfing and horseshoes, to which he was often extreme! Danny enjoyed having a good time and had one huge heart. The family will receive friends at Flora Funeral Service on Wednesday, June 9 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Mountain View Memorial Park 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 10, with the Rev. Joe Dillon officiating.
