Darlene B. Campbell

On October 10, 2018, Darlene Belcher Campbell, age 77, lost her battle with brain cancer and went to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Oren and Alma Yeatts Belcher and father-in-law Teddy W. Campbell. Also preceding her were brothers~in~law, Bill Holley, Tommy L. Campbell, Dewey E. Prillaman, and Everett Rakes and sisters~in~law Marie Campbell and Barbara Campbell.

Darlene grew up in Truevine until she met and married the love of her life, Buford, in high school. They spent 60 wonderful years together with being married 58 1/2 years in the Snow Creek Community. Darlene was an active and life member of the Snow Creek Ladies Auxiliary and Forrest Hill Christian Church. Darlene also was a life member of the Snow Creek Rescue Squad.

Darlene worked for DuPont in Martinsville for almost 10 years until she became a wonderful and loving stay at home mother to her two daughters, Donna and Rhonda.

Darlene is survived by her loving husband Buford; her adoring daughters, Donna (Kirt) Perkins, and Rhonda Campbell, and grandchildren who were the sparkle of her eye, Gray Perkins and Sage Campbell.

Other family survivors are her siblings, Nancy B. Prillaman, Sandra B. Cooper, Preston O. Belcher, Sr. and Judy B. (Don) Swanson, and Darlene’s mother-in-law, Nannie T. Campbell. Darlene’s sisters and brothers-in-law; Sylvia C. Holley, Wayne Campbell, Michael (Rita) Campbell; Patsy (Jack) Smith; Melvin Campbell and Larry Campbell. Also, numerous nieces and nephews.

Darlene’s visitation will be from 5-8 on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Flora Funeral Home. Services will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Forrest Hill Christian Church with interment in the Church Cemetery.
