David Allen Brown, Sr.

David Allen Brown, Sr., age 68 of Rocky Mount passed away from this life on Tuesday, February 11, 2014. He was born July 8, 1945 and was preceded in death by his father, David Ingram Brown; and his mother, Annie Bell Brown. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Cauley Brown; son, David A. Brown, Jr. and wife, Kim H. Brown; daughter, Pamela A. Chitwood and her husband, Steven Chitwood; grandchildren, Dalton Brown, Anna Brown and Olivia Chitwood; sisters, Joyce Wells, Betty Robertson, Sandra Rakes and Judy Hodges; nieces, nephews, wonderful friends and neighbors; and his companions, Daisy, Alley, and Fuzzy. David was retired from 619 Minute Market where he was manager for 48 years. He enjoyed bargain shopping and playing the lottery. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 10 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Richard Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Church of the Brethren Cemetery. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
