David Wendell Poindexter

David Wendell Poindexter, age 62 of Union Hall passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. David was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Douglas David and Nelson and Edna Poindexter. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Poindexter; daughter, Jennifer Poindexter (Stacey Pickeral); mother, Norma Jean Poindexter; father, Wendell Poindexter (Linda); step-children, Jason Palmer (Kristina), Kristie Palmer (Carl Austin); step-grandchildren, Caden, Corbin, Gavin, Sage and Mia; sisters, Janet Thompson (David) and Tammy Howard (Tommy); step- brothers, Scott Hamlett, Bruce Hamlett (Ginger); his in-laws, Walter and Nancy Shelton; sisters-in-law, Ann Brodie and Eugenia Morrison (Kenny); along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. David worked at the Glade Hill Post Office for 28 years as a Rural Letter Carrier. Funeral services will be held at Christian Fellowship Church 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2019 with Pastor Mike Finley and Rev. Jonah Schoop officiating. Interment will follow in the David Family Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
