David Kenith Rosenbaum

David Kenith Rosenbaum, 76 of Wirtz, VA passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018. David was born May 30, 1941 in Cripple Creek, Wythe County, VA and was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Ethel Rosenbaum of Cripple Creek, VA; brothers, Harry Rosenbaum, James Rosenbaum, Alan Rosenbaum, Larry Rosenbaum; sister, Ruby Groseclose and brother, Dwight “Ike” Rosenbaum. David was a United States Army Veteran. He retired after 20 years of service having served 18 months in Vietnam, and also served many years in Germany and in the United States. While he was living in Martinsville, VA, he worked as Director of Safety & Security for Martinsville and Henry County Memorial Hospital, and as Lieutenant for the Martinsville Sheriff’s Department. He is survived by his beloved wife, Brigitte Schneider Rosenbaum (married since 04/25/1970); son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Kim Rosenbaum; daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Alan Hurd; brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard and JoAnn Rosenbaum, Fred and Daphne Rosenbaum, Eugene “Blue” Rosenbaum; sister and brother-in-law, Roger and Phylliss Rutherford; brothers and sister-in-law, Gerhardt and Jutta Schneider and Peter Schneider; five grandchildren, Trace Hurd, Gracie Hurd, Ashleigh Boisseau, Jenna Rosenbaum and Jeremy Rosenbaum; along with several nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park with Military Honors. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
