David Edgar Wray, age 72 of Rocky Mount, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 28, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Kathy Wray; daughters, Crystal Bryant (Tony) and Monica Hall (Ken); grandchildren, Christian, Kayla, and River Bryant, and Kristin Hall; sister, Judy Hale (Ronnie). He will also be loved and remembered by his nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and special friends, Valrie Brown, Geneva Hodges, Barbara Reynolds, and many more. David was born and raised here in Rocky Mount, farming with his parents, John Ellwood and Violet Sink Wray. He was a Boy Scout, Nascar memorabilia collector, and loved his oldies music, especially the Beatles. He was a member of Henry Fork Church of the Brethren and a Kroger retiree. Behind his rugged, tough exterior, he had a huge heart. His pride and joy were his girls and grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at Henry Fork Church of the Brethren, 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2021 with Pastor Ron Coleman officiating and J.T. Clark assisting. Interment will follow at Germantown Brick Church Cemetery. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
