Deborah "Debby" Raynor Carter

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah (Debby) Raynor Carter, who left us on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at the age of 70. She was predeceased by her loving mother, Charlotte Pruitt; and her father, Dewey Raynor; and granddaughter, Montana Haynes.

Born on April 30, 1955, in Danville Virginia, Debby grew up in Ringgold/Surherlin area. She later spent many years at Smith Mountain Lake with her loving husband, Kenneth Gary Carter. A proud graduate of Dan River High School and Danville Community College. she devoted over 20 years of her career to serving the community as a valued member of BB&T bank until her retirement.

Debby's heart was filled with love for her family. A devoted member of Ringgold Baptist Church, she found joy in spending time with her close family and friends. Embracing life with a spirit that touched everyone around her. Known for her soft, sweet nature, Debby will always be remembered for her kindness and warmth.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Gary Carter; her brothers, Danny Raynor (wife Cindy) and Barry Steve Raynor. Debby also shared children, Robyn Haynes, Venus Hendrix (husband Morris), Michelle Carter; grandchildren, Jess (Emma) Hendrix, Nolan (Sarah) Hendrix and Carter Haynes; her niece, Amber Rivero and her children, Miley, Allyson and Brantley; and her nephew, Chris Raynor (wife Alicia) and his children, Haylee, Mia, Anna and Charlotte. Debby's love extended to everyone in her family as well as her close friends.

A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Mountain View Memorial Park, Boones Mill, VA. A celebration of her life will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Ringgold Baptist Church, Ringgold, VA with Pastor Duane Caldwell officiating. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
