Deborah Webster, age 68, of Callaway, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born June 15, 1957, Deborah was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and a friend to just about everyone who ever crossed her path. For many years, she worked in the Franklin County Public School system as a cafeteria manager, most proudly at Callaway Elementary School. Feeding folks was her calling — whether it was the children she served at school or her own family gathered around her kitchen table, Deborah showed love through food. After retirement, she continued working in local schools, always with a smile, a laugh, and a warm plate for anyone who needed one.
Deborah was known for her kind and gentle heart, her spirited sense of humor, and her generous soul. She had a gift for making people feel welcome — often with a homemade cake in hand. She would spend whole days baking and freezing cakes just so she’d have one ready to share whenever someone needed a little sweetness in their life.
Her granddaughters, Kaitlyn Mullins and Alex Mullins, were truly the light of her life. Deborah was not only their beloved MeMe, but also their inspiration and guiding example. Her steady love, encouragement, and laughter helped shape their growing years, and her presence will forever be a cherished part of who they are.
Deborah loved her family fiercely, her animals dearly, and her community wholeheartedly. She and her devoted husband, Robert Webster, shared a beautiful life together and would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary this December. A true animal lover, she leaves behind her faithful fur-baby, Shiloh. She found joy in the simple things — bird watching from her porch, tending to her flowers, walking on the treadmill while watching Christmas movies, and listening to her favorite country, bluegrass, and gospel music. Deborah had a special love for Christmas and brought that same spirit of warmth and giving to every season of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Webster; her daughters, Nicole Flippin and April Wimmer (Nathan); grandchildren, Kaitlyn Mullins and Alex Mullins; brother, Gary Guilliams (Darlene); sisters, Kathy Guilliams, Patty Snyder (Mick), and Sheila Hall (John); sisters-in-law, Donna Haddix and Linda Pendleton (David); and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Marie Guilliams; her father- and mother-in-law, Bobby Webster and Rosemary Strickler; and brother-in-law, Tim Haddix.
A service in honor and memory of Deborah Webster will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Bethany Church of the Brethren, located at 2005 Bethany Road, Boones Mill, VA 24065.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Franklin County, VA Animal Shelter, in honor of Deborah’s lifelong love of animals.
Deborah Webster will be remembered for her laughter, her kindness, and the way she made every person — and every meal — feel like home.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.” – Matthew 25:2.
