Debra Kay Gillenwater

Debra Kay Gillenwater, age 55 of Rocky Mount died Thursday, April 7, 2011. Surviving are her husband, Glenva Hodges; daughter and son-in-law, Shannon Hensley and Charles; sisters and brother-in-law, Trudy Edwards, Donna Cooper, Vickie Hopkins and John; brothers, Don Cooper, Shawn Smith; three grandbabies, Charles Rakes, Taylor Hensley, Summer Hensley; nieces and nephews, Wesley and Adam Smith, Wyatt Hopkins, Jamie and Jerry Maze, Diana Boyd, Joey Edwards, Tamara Edwards, Tika Richie; best friend, Alrena Smith; her cat, Precious; her bird, Sunshine. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Brown; beloved mother, Elizabeth Edwards; father, Dewey Gillenwater; special uncle, Ira Compton; step-father, John Edwards. She was a loving friend, grandmother and mother and will be sadly missed. Memorial services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Tuesday with Pastor Dan Woods officiating.
