Debra Faye Mattox

Debra Faye Mattox departed her life Saturday June 15th, 2024 at her home in Rocky Mount, Virginia. Faye was surrounded by her loving family as she transitioned. She was born April 29th, 1958 in Franklin County, Virginia to the late Nathaniel and Gladys Kent. Faye worked for Ronile for several years until she was medically unable to work. She then spent the remainder of her life doing her passion which was helping take care of friends and family members children. She was preceded in death by her parents Nathaniel and Gladys Kent, her brother Nathaniel Gilbert Kent, and nephew Nathan Overa Kent. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband Bobby “B” Mattox, one son Travis (Amber) Kent, one God-Daughter Eltoniquwa Holland, three grandchildren Nate Kent, Kameron Geralds, and Nasir Holland, two sisters Audrey (Arthur) Tolliver, Cathy (Frank) Lee, one brother Ronnie (Carolyn) Kent, three sister-in laws, Cheryl Kent, Frances Clayborne, and Debbie (Otey) Hopkins, three brother-in-laws, Donnie (Freda) Mattox, Paul (Lily) Mattox, Bob “A” (Jennifer) Mattox, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Pigg River Center, 12 noon Thursday, June 20, 2024 with interment to follow in the Waid-Mattox Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Friends may visit 2-4 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount, VA.
