Delirah Marlene Harper Poindexter

Delirah Marlene Harper Poindexter, age 60 of Rocky Mount died Sunday, June 19, 2016. She was born October 17, 1955 a daughter of the late Wardell and Ruby Patterson Harper. She was also preceded in death by a son, Barry Poindexter; brother, Dwaine Harper; her grandparents and a very special friend, Martha Roope. Surviving are her husband, Harold Lee Poindexter; daughter, Danyelle Poindexter; son, Derrick Poindexter (Ashley); grandchildren, Gabriel, Kayliona & Kendrick; brother, Lawrence Harper (Veronica); sister, Serena Diane Cook; many nieces, nephew, cousins, other family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Thursday. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
