Denna S. Austin

Denna S. Austin, age 64 of Ferrum passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Delmas Shively; and her parents, Virgil and Elsie Sloan. Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Earl Austin; children, David Shively (Stephanie) and Dawn Marsh (Cory); grandchildren, Ean, Emily, and Autumn; brothers, Jimmy, Dannie, and Vernard; numerous nieces and nephews. Denna was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was employed by Ferrum College with 28 years of service assisting students with their college experience. Denna was loved and will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 12, 2021 with Dr. William Shively officiating. Interment will follow in the Cooper Family Cemetery. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
