Dennis Roy Johnson, Jr., age 50 of Rocky Mount died Thursday, January 19, 2017. Surviving are his mother, Susan Tinsley (Sonny); father, Dennis Johnson (Betty); brother, Lee Johnson (Christy); step-brothers, Steve Smith (Carrie) and Jody Smith (Hiedi), Derek Tinsley; step-sisters, Dina Davis, Tiffanie Wiscombe; girlfriend, Jessica Plowden; nieces and nephews, Nick, Taylor, and Kelly Johnson, Tabitha and Cody Davis, Tyler and Ethan Smith, Anna Smith and Cameron Ingle; and uncles, Frank Pugh (Katherine), John Johnson (Margaret), Phillip Johnson (Sandy); many other family and friends. Special thanks to Carilion Hospice of Franklin County for their care. Funeral services will be conducted at Henry Fork Church of the Brethren 2 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Henry Fork Church and other times and the home of Susan and Sonny Tinsley, 530 Bonnie Lane, Salem or Dennis and Betty Johnson, 1208 Taylor Tyree Road, Rocky Mount.
