Denver Orval Atkins

Denver Orval Atkins, 86 of Ferrum passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021. He is survived by his children, Stacy Atkins and Dawn Treaster; grandchildren, Teri Rakes, Brandon Atkins, Cody Pagans, Trever Pagans, Ben Gillis, and T.J. Gillis; great-grandchildren, Ethan Young, Madison Rakes and Maddi Gillis; brother, Elmer Atkins; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marie Ingram, Tommy Lee Gusler and Linwood Gusler. He was a loving husband  to Virginia who passed away December 25, 2018, also a loving father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and father-in-law. He had many friends and a wonderful church family at Maple Grove United Methodist Church whom he loved very much. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice, Salem VA Medical Center and Homebase Primary Care for their loving care and attention. There will be a celebration of life at Maple Grove United Methodist Church, 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 17,2021. His family will begin greeting friends at 10:30 a.m. at the church.
