Dewey Randolph “Pic" Young, 82, of Fork Mountain passed away at Franklin Health & Rehab on Tuesday, September 4 ^th , 2018. He enjoyed playing golf, dirt track racing, hunting, and always loved driving a truck. He spent his entire life driving a truck and it was his passion. He will be greatly missed. We, the family, love him very much and will cherish all of our memories and hold him dear to our hearts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Minyard and Elva Young; also his nephew, Martin “Fred" Young. He is survived by his loving wife, Erma T. Young, of 62 years; his three children, Dewey Randolph “Randy" Young, Jr., Michael Young (Lola), and Kimberly Brown (Jimmy); six grandchildren, Meagan, Hannah, Emily, Brandy, Bailey, and Madison; and six great-grandchildren who loved him dearly. He is also survived by his siblings, Glennis Young (Peggy), R.L. Young (Cecile), and Becky McGee (Joe); many cousins, nieces, and nephews and close friends, Mickey and Kathy Zieglar. His family will receive friends at the residence Wednesday, September 5 ^th , 2018 between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. 3324 Virgil H Goode Hwy. Rocky Mount, Va. 24151. Flowers can be sent to the home or donations can be made to New Vision Baptist Church at 4161 Fork Mountain Road Rocky Mount, Va. 24151. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Henry Memorial Park. His family will also receive friends from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Thursday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount. The family would like to thank his caregiver, Rose Allen, Carilion Hospice, and the staff at Franklin Health Rehab for all the amazing care and love they showed him.
