Listen to Obituary
Heaven rejoiced as Diane Thomas Jamison, 57, of Boones Mill was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, January 1, 2013. She was born June 17, 1955 to Jesse and Goldie Thomas of Boones Mill. Already gone before her were both her parents, with whom she was very close, as well as her father-in-law, Goggin Jamison. Her memory will forever be in the hearts of her loving and devoted husband of 34 years, Glen Jamison; and her very dear daughter, Jessica Diane Jamison. Also surviving are her mother-in-law, Mildred Jamison Boitnott; brother and sister-in-law, David and Ethel Thomas; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Hicks, Jerry Jamison, Peggy and Doug Nunn, Danny and Terri Jamison, Terry and Cynthia Jamison, and Alan and Gayle Jamison; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and loving friends. Diane devoted her life to her family and service to others. She was fully committed to her church, where she was a lifelong member and participated in and led various service projects. She loved people and all her many friends. She was a lover of all of God's creatures, enjoyed the outdoors, and had a deep appreciation for the simple things in life. She was always a determined and hard worker, wonderful helpmate and extraordinary mother. She will be remembered for all the love that she shared during her time on this earth, and the great impact she made in the lives of many. A celebration of her life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Fairmont Baptist Church with Rev. Bonny Dillon and Rev. Leonard Castleman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fairmont Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Her family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
