Donald Lee Blankenship

Donald Lee Blankenship, age 77 of Rocky Mount died Tuesday, September 2, 2008 in the local hospital. He was born September 25, 1930 a son of the late Henry and Frances Blankenship and was preceded in death by his wife, Ester Mae Blankenship on February 5, 2008; his siblings, Mildred Wade Peters, Audrey Blankenship, Tommy Blankenship and James Blankenship; parents,. Mr. Blankenship is survived by his children, Danny and Lois, Rickey and Valerie, Ronald, Barry and Donna, Cheryl and Danny Hodges, Jerry, Perry and Denise, Lorenda and Rex Goodman and Michael; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Reid Blankenship, Betty Robertson, Nancy and W.D. Young, Joyce Carol Ledbetter. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2008 with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will be private at Franklin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Foster Care of Roanoke Valley. The family will receive friends Wednesday prior to the service from 6 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
