Donald Bruce Ferguson, Sr., age 75 of Rocky Mount died Sunday, September 23, 2012. He was born April 9, 1937 a son of the late Otis and Viola Ferguson. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Ferguson; and nephew, Jeff Perdue. Surviving are his sons, Bruce Ferguson, Jr. (Diane) and Brad Ferguson; grandsons, Dusty and Niles (Lindsay) Ferguson; granddaughter, Lindsey Ferguson; brothers, Paul Ferguson (Twyla), Joe Ferguson; sisters, Gloria Campbell (Henry), Claudine Law (Creed), Janet Perdue (Doug); step-daughter, Mitzi Wagoner (Bull and daughter Baileigh); former brothers-in-law who he kept, Bobby (Hero) Grindstaff and Tommy Campbell; the mother of Lisa and Bruce, Shirley Grindstaff Hammock; special friends, Mike Hunley, Bill Mabrey, David Young, Kenny, Wesley and Matt Mullins and all the Poker gang. His extended family, Bernice Fralin; daughter, Mary JoAnn Fralin; granddaughter, Abby Furrow, Cara Fralin, and the love of his life and heart, Erin Bree Krebs (Monkey), Carlton Fralin, David Fralin (Wanda), Carolyn Fralin, Norma Fralin, Brenda Brown; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mount Carmel Baptist Church Building Fund, Snow Creek Rescue Squad or a charity of choice. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount with private burial at a later date.
