Donald Lee Gillispie

Donald Lee Gillispie, age 82 of Floyd passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Donald was born July 2, 1942, a son of the late Euell and Ida Gillispie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Gillispie; son, Donald Wayne Gillispie; and brother, Ronald L. Gillispie. Surviving are his children, Michelle (Corey) Harrison and Patricia (John) Peery; his grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Olivia Scott, Summer Harrison and Eli Harrison; two sisters, Betty Minton and Barbara Boyd; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Donald loved the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing and walking through the woods to find deer sheds, mushrooms, ginseng, arrow heads and loved to have a dog by his side. He had numerous pets over the years. He and Virginia enjoyed many trips together and each other’s company. A graveside service will be held at the Ingram Family Cemetery 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2024. The family invites those in attended to share their memories of Donald. His family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Friday prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
