Donald Perry Hunley (Donnie), age 87 of Rocky Mount went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 3, 2023. He was a longtime member of Franklin Heights Church where he served as deacon for numerous years.
He loved traveling with Betty to Tennessee and going to Dollywood. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Donnie retired from MW Manufacturing (PlyGem) after working there for 47 years. He was known to many to be a “Jack of all Trades”.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Onie Hunley; three brothers, Cleo, Otis and Milton Hunley; and very special cousin, Jr. Thurman.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 66 years, Betty Cundiff Hunley; three daughters, Denise Angle (Dean), Nancy Huston (Dale) and Susan Bowling (Gary); brothers, Tommy Hunley (Betty), Richard Hunley and sister-in-law, Ella Grey Hunley; grandchildren, Bradley Angle (Brett), Brandon Angle (Shana), Travis Sigmon (Nikki), Seth Sigmon (Brittany), Chad Huston (Megan), Ericka Solano (Glen) and Kristen Brubaker (Tyler); great-grandchildren, Faith and Israel Angle, Brynn and Jade Sigmon, Gavin and Graham Sigmon, Ella Huston, Jonah and Perry Solano and Meredith Brubaker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at Franklin Heights Church 11 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2023 with Pastor Stan Parris and Rev. J. Larry Holland officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
