Donald Edward Smith

Donald Edward Smith, age 75 of Rocky Mount died Tuesday, September 8, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Patricia C. Smith; father, Ed Smith; mother and step-father, Maude and Taze Hill. Surviving are his daughters, Terry Smith and Sherry Smith; brothers and sisters, Ricky Hill (Pam), Gene Hill, JoAnne Rodda; several nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Donald retired from Lane Company in Rocky Mount and was a member of the Appalachian Hunt Club while his health allowed. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Henry Memorial Park with Lay Pastor Andrew Cundiff officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Carilion Hospice of Franklin County. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
