Donna Sue Johnson Mccarty

Donna Sue Johnson McCarty, age 64 of Rocky Mount passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024.  She was born on September 20, 1959, a daughter to her late parents Lawrence and Mary Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her brother John Johnson.

She is survived by her husband Larry of 42 years; two children, Amanda Rucker (Simon) and Jeffery McCarty (Morgan); grandchildren, Izabella, Eli, Anna, Parker and Evelyn; as well as her brother, Glenn Johnson (Sharon).

She was a big part of her local community as a restaurant operator for many years.  After retirement she enjoyed ministering to others through a craft and greeting card ministry through her church at Franklin Heights. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Franklin Heights Church, 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2024 with Pastor Stan Parris officiating. Her family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to Franklin Heights Church or Rocky Mount Baptist Church in memory of Donna. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
