Donnie Wayne Meeks

Donnie Wayne Meeks, age 65 of Rocky Mount passed away Saturday November 1, 2014 at his residence. Donnie was preceded in death by his loving father and mother, James JR Meeks and Virginia O. Meeks and an uncle who was like a brother, Bob Overfelt. Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Donna M. Meeks, his only daughter, Kim M. Palmer, his grandchildren Brandon Brubaker (Kelli), Ashley Brubaker, Jameylynn Palmer, his great grandchildren, Ayden and Gabriel Brubaker, a very special sister-in-law and brother-in-law Wanda and Joe Ramsey, sister-in-law and husband Lisa and Tim Martin, (aunts who were like sisters) Shirley James (Paul), Mary Mullins and Marie Overfelt, his uncles Wilburn Meeks, Albert Meeks, Shelbourne Meeks, Edward Meeks and many cousins. The family respectfully request no food. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Chapel with Rev. Wilburn Meeks officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount/Smith Mountain Lake.
