Doris Baker

Our precious mother, Doris Smith Baker, age 80 of Rocky Mount went to her eternal home on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 and was greeted by her precious saviour. She was preceded by her husband, Edward Baker, formerly of Yukon, WV. She was also preceded by her parents, Berlin and Elizabeth Smith and her step-mother Celia Smith, whom she affectionately called Mom. Doris was also preceded by her children, Stephen, Daniel, and Devinna; brothers, Delanor and Ron; and many other loved ones. She will be sadly missed by her children, Danita (Joe) Sheets, Dianne (Bobby) Whitt, Bradley (Lori) Baker, Beverly (Joe) Rutter, Brian (Joyce) Baker, Kimberly (Don) Armstrong and Zackary Toney. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and one on the way. Her surviving siblings are Jack, Dennis (Buck), Brenda, Barbara, Dovie, Noah, Donnie, Patsy, Nancy and Peggy. Funeral services will be conducted at Rocky Mount Church of God on Main Street, 12 noon, Saturday, July 7, 2018 with Pastor Robert Meredith officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
