Doris Prillaman, age 57 of Ferrum, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Hodges; brothers, Lawrence and William Hodges; and her beloved son, Toby.
Left to cherish her memory is a special friend, Roger Greenway; daughters, Malissa Campbell and friend Wesley Edmund of Florida, and Amanda Prillaman of Roanoke; her mother, Bessie Hodges of Ferrum; brother, Wayne Hodges and friend (Dolly Hatcher) of Ferrum; sisters, Linda Midkiff and (Odele Midkiff), Shirley Belcher and (Tony Belcher), Ruby Nester and (Ivan Nester) all of Ferrum, and Carol Fain and (Warren Fain) of Woolwine; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a private graveside service for family and close friends at the Hodges Family Cemetery 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 10th with Reverend Winston Crichlow officiating.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, March 10th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the home of Bessie Hodges.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to everyone for their prayers and visits and the many acts of kindness shown to Doris throughout her illness.
