Doris Sigmon Montgomery

Doris Geneva Sigmon Montgomery, age 91 of Rocky Mount died Friday, June 5, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Edward “Junior” Montgomery; parents, James Norman and Clara Theora Guilliams Sigmon; her brothers and sisters, Gladys Pate (Herman), Marvin M. “Nig” Sigmon (Eva), James “Toby” Sigmon (Blanche), Charlotte Austin (Rodger), Eva Marie Sigmon; and sisters-in-law, Shirley Jones and Frankie Moncrief. Surviving are her sister, Ruth Walker; brother, Ronnie Sigmon (Rosemary); sisters-in-law, Louise Hammed, Hazel Ellis and Peggy Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews including, Chad Austin (Angie); and special friend, Lillie Mae Keatts. Special thanks to Melissa Hodges and Beverly Rutter for the care they provided. Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2026 with Pastor Steve Tilley officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
