Doris L. Ramsey

Doris L. Ramsey, age 86 of Rocky Mount passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Jesse Ramsey; daughters, Phyllis Daibes (Mel), Cynthia Comito (Gregg); son, Stephen Ramsey (Anglia); granddaughter, Emily Ramsey; grandsons, Matthew, Gregory, and Ryan; one great-granddaughter, Summer Ramsey. Doris was employed by DuPont of Martinsville, AARP Health Services in Roanoke, and worked with her husband in their Ben Franklin Stores. She was an Artist and enjoyed painting many beautiful scenic pictures over the years. She was a charter member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church and served in many leadership positions including Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School and was a choir member for over 50 years. She also served as President of the Rocky Mount Women’s Club. Funeral services will be conducted from Franklin Heights Baptist Church 2 p.m. Wednesday with Dr. Stan Parris, Rev. Mark Griffith, and Rev. J. Larry Holland officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
