Dorothy G. Richards

Dorothy Gay Richards age 94 of Ferrum, Va. passed away Sunday May 2, 2010. Dorothy was born February 2, 1916 the daughter of the late Green and Fannie Radford also preceded in death by her husband; Bunn Richards, daughter; Dean Atkins, great-grandchild; Landon Cockram, four brothers; Hank, Palmer, Cricket and Otho, one sister; Irma. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law; Lois Sanders (Billy) , Jennette Pigg (Doug), Diann Wagoner (Ed), Velma Cockram (Ronnie), grandchildren; Paula, David, Bobby, Sam, Missy, Johnathan, Andy and Dale Keith; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a number of nieces and nephews, three sisters; Ethel, Naomi and Ann. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Chapel with Pastor Calvin Hickson officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Her family will be receiving friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral & Cremation Service 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount. Mama’s favorite saying was, “I’m fine except what ails me” Now that’s changed to nothing ails me “ I’m FINE.”
