Dorothy Tench Simon

Dorothy Tench Simon, age 82 of Penhook, died Monday, November 19, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Simon Jr.; and her brother, Edmond Tench. Surviving are her son, Michael Simon III; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Weng Simon of New Jersey; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Jeannine Simon of Roanoke; sister-in-law, Judy Tench of Penhook; also surviving are her nine precious grandchildren, Jeffrey, Mollie, Jack, Joseph, Jeremy, James, Mary, Kobey and Grace; her three loving nephews, Keith, Kevin, and Brian; and her devoted cousins; Nancy and Rudy Bush. Special gratitude to all the caretakers at South Roanoke Nursing Home where Mrs. Simon resided for the last 11 years. Funeral services will be conducted from Forrest Hill Christian Church 2 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018. A private Interment will follow at the Tench Family Cemetery on Dorothy’s cherished home-place. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
