Dorothy Dent Smith

Dorothy Dent Smith, age 79 of Glade Hill died Friday, February 22, 2019. She was born October 20, 1939 a daughter of the late Robert and Annie Turner Dent. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Fralin and Lena Hodges; and two nephews, Randy Fralin and Robbie Dent. Surviving are her sons, Lester Smith, Terry Smith, Larry Smith (Annette); grandchildren, Brett, Travis and Blaine Smith; three great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Dent (Doraine); sisters, Myrtle Doucette (Ron), Jean Meador and Kitty Pagans; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Patsy Murphy and Ruth Collins. A special thanks to Cecile Woods for her wonderful care of Dot. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Chapel with Rev. Denver Turner and Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in the Dent Family Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
