Douglas Wayne Furrow, 69 went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, June 10, 2012. He was preceded in death by his son Richard Anthony Lynch; father A.C. Furrow; mother, Elizabeth Furrow; brothers, Albert and Roy Furrow; sister, Joyce Matthews. Left behind thanking God for 39 loving years are his wife Judy; his sisters, Agnes Thacker and Helen Johnson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Freda Mullins; many nieces and nephews Melvin, Linda, Eugene, Sheryl, Richard, Mark, David, John, Paul, Donna, Betsy, David and Gary; including special nieces Kim, Berkeley, Amy and her husband Greg; his God given grandchildren, P.J., Valerie, Channing and Allison; special friends, Darnell, Timmy, Joyce, Larry and Pastor Ron and Becky Coleman; his baby girl Minnie who he spent many hours with. He also has a large church family at Henry Fork COB, which he loved dearly and his buddies at DQ that he ate breakfast with every morning. Wayne loved gardening and woodworking for the Lord and also the time he spent working at Ferrum and Burnt Chimney Elementary Schools with his many friends. Flowers are appreciated or donations may be made in Wayne’s memory to Henry Fork COB Building Fund, c/o Vicky Robertson, 628 Wrays Chapel Road, Rocky Mount, Va. 24151. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Henry Fork Church of the Brethren with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Clearview Cemetery.
