Douglas "Peanut" Macarthur Scott

Douglas “Peanut” MacArthur Scott, age 77 of Ferrum, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021. He was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Fannie Scott; two sisters, Louise Wagoner and Garnet Woods; four brothers, Marvin , Carrol , Kermit Scott and Lloyd Scott. Surviving are his “wife”, Nora Scott; children, Johnny Scott (Margaret), Steve Scott (Alisha), David Scott, and Lori Scott; grandchildren, Kristene Scott, Jayne Wagner (Ben), Sierra Scott, Sam Scott, Savannah Scott, Gabriel Scott, Alianna Rigney, Tabitha Rigney, Cody Yopp, Hayley Shaffer (Zach); six great-grandchildren; brothers, Danny Scott (Judy) and Carl Scott; sister, Dean Guilliams; many nieces and nephews. Peanut loved fishing, gardening, tinkering, cracking walnuts, and his chickens. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 11, 2021 with Pastor Bud Nichols officiating. Interment will follow at the Shively-Scott Family Cemetery. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
