Earl W. Hoy

Earl W. Hoy age 88 of Callaway died Sunday, March 6, 2005. He was retired from E.I. DuPont, Co. with 43 years of service, serving as a Marketing Specialist and was a U.S. Army veteran serving during WW II. He was a Past President of the Boones Mill Lions Club where he was recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow Honor and was currently serving as a Co-Chair Person for Sight First with his wife on District 24E and was involved on the state level as an instructor for membership classes.

He was born March 14, 1916, a son of the late Rev. I.D. and Maude Cummings Hoy and was also preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie; a grandson, Stephen Hoy; his stepdaughter, Audrey Hoy Fisher.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice Montgomery Hoy; his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Alice Hoy, Dan and Anne Hoy, Delaware; 7 grandchildren, Christopher, Beth, Daniel, Sharon, Kevin, Andrew and Mark; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Jesse Hoy, Marianna, Florida; sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and Bob Kinzie, Salem, Kathryn and Dr. James Snead, Roanoke, Helen and Harold Landis, Harrisonburg; sister-in-law, Nancy Hoy, Virginia Beach; step grandsons, Todd Fisher, Mechanicsville, Dr. Kevin Fisher, Rocky Mount, Ryan Fisher, Christiansburg;

A memorial service will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 3:00 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Robert Miller officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Boones Mill Lions Club P.O. Box 517, Boones Mill, VA 24065.

The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:30 p.m. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
