Earnest Gordon Dillon

Earnest Gordon (Blinky) Dillon, age 89 of Vinton and formerly of Franklin County passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013. Born July 1, 1924 a son of the late Leonard and Alma Jones Dillon, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Keaton Dillon; brothers, Curtis and Floyd Dillon; sister, Novella Ballentine. Surviving are his children, Leonard and Jeannie Dillon, Jerry and Ruth Dillon, Tina Dillon and George Wilson; grandchildren, Jerry Duane Dillon, Lenny Dillon, Jr., Amber Dillon; step-grandchildren, Alan Dillon, Amy and Shaun Robinson and Joey; sisters, Rhodessa Davidson of Fieldale, Patricia Belcher of Rocky Mount, Linda and Donnie Tinsley of Vinton; many special nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Denver Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
