Eddie Dean Linkous

Eddie Dean Linkous, age 62 of Bassett died Wednesday, August 28, 2013. He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Scott Martin, Sr.; grandson, Gregory Scott Martin, Jr.; mother and father, Alvie and Noah Linkous; and brother, Thomas Linkous. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Faye Linkous; children, Maria Oakes, Chris Martin, Wendy Crum, Pansy Spencer; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Ricky Linkous of Norfolk. He was a member of Mt. Hermon Church of the Brethren. Funeral services will be conducted from Mt. Hermon Church of the Brethren 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Noel Naff and Rev. Ricky Randall officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
