Eddie Ross Spangler

Eddie Ross Spangler (Ed), age 78 of Rocky Mount went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 15, 2016. He was born August 22, 1937 in Welch, West Virginia, son of the late B. Vance Spangler and Hazel S. Allman. After graduating from high school he joined the United States Air Force and later attended Bluefield College of West Virginia and Virginia Western Community College. After running an ambulance service in the Washington, D.C. area he moved to Franklin County where he helped raise his family. Later in life, he moved to Augusta, Georgia where he married his late wife Hannelore Spangler. After her passing he returned to Franklin County where he lived out his later years. Ed was loved by many people and will be deeply missed. He was survived by children; B. Vance Spangler and wife Lisa, Pam Spangler, Necie Spangler, step-children Angela McDaniel and husband, David, Myles Millner and Michael Millner; grandchildren, Brittney Cook, Brandon Spangler, Taylor Spangler, Colton Sink, Chance Dillion, step-grandchildren Rachel McDaniel, Mark McDaniel and Kyle Millner. Memorial services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 11 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2016 with Pastor Leonard Foley officiating. His family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
