Edgar Thomas Hodges "Doc"

Edgar Thomas (Doc) Hodges, age 78 of Penhook, passed away Wednesday August 26, 2009. He was born June 9, 1931 to Doctor Peter and Sallie Hunt Hodges. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Eunice Maxey Hodges, three brothers, Raymond, George and James. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dexter and Dorothy Hodges, Rocky Mount, Va. and a daughter, Monica Hodges Boitnott, Durham, N.C. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Lenford and Sally Hodges, Hensil and Jane Hodges, a sister, Hazel Lumpkins and sister-in-law, Isabel Hodges, all of Rocky Mount, Va. He was a lifetime member of the Blackwater Bowhunters Club and a U.S. Army Veteran. The family would like to express their thanks to Cool Branch Rescue Squad, Carilion Franklin Memorial and Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospitals for their help and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cool Branch Rescue Squad, Penhook, Va., American Arthritis Foundation, American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Larry Mann officiating. Interment will follow in the Hodges Family Cemetery, (English Rd.).
