James Edgar Holley, age 88 of Henry, Va. passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Lucy Holley; sons, J.B. Holley and Lonnie Holley; daughter, Roma Holley Carter; sons-in-law, Ronnie Cobler and J.D. Hylton; grandson, Mason Holley; sisters, Maude Holley and Marie Broome; brothers, Dewey Shively, Grady, Lloyd, Albert, Thomas and Dennis Holley. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved spending time with his family, farming, helping his church and community. He retired from DuPont after 38 years of service. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Faye S. Holley; daughters, Brenda Hale of Ferrum, Patsy Hylton of Martinsville, Deborah Cobler of Collinsville; sons, Rocky (Gail) Holley of Henry, Johnnie (Mary Ann) Holley of Ferrum; daughters-in-law, Ramona Holley of Ferrum, Patricia Holley of Penhook; son-in-law, Buren Carter of Columbus, OH; 18 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Johnnie Holley of Martinsville, Coy (Lula) Holley of Floyd, Virgil (Sarah) Holley of Henry; numerous nieces and nephews. The family requests no food. Memorials can be made to Mill Creek Baptist Church, Henry, Va. or Henry Community Center, Henry, Va. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Chapel with Pastor Tom Teems and Pastor Brian Goard officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
