Edith Tosh Overton, age 97 of Moneta, went to be with the Lord Wednesday January 9, 2008.
She was born October 26, 1910 to the late William Thomas and Ada Musgrove Tosh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George Overton; three sisters and two brothers.
Edith was a member of Mt. Ivy Baptist Church and when she was able, enjoyed attending the Franklin County Senior Citizens meetings. She loved the outdoors where she enjoyed gardening and flowering.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Agnes and Glenwood “Brownie” Brown; granddaughter and her husband Annette and John “J.P” Patrick; one great-granddaughter Ashley Patrick; two sisters Lucille Berryman of Pasadena, MD, and Margaret Dunn of Baltimore, MD.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Steve Pasley officiating. Interment will follow in County Line Christian Church Cemetery.
Her family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service, 665 S. Main St., Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
