Edith Green Sowder

Edith Green Sowder, age 83 of Rocky Mount, passed away at home on December 16, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dennis Hampton Green and Hattie Wimmer Green. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, William Harvey (Bill) Sowder; children, Mary Lee Sowder and William Harvey (Bubby) Sowder Jr., both of Rocky Mount; sister, Mary Green Williams of Ridgeway, Va; three nieces, Karen, Anne, and Beth. Edith was a member of Gogginsville United Methodist Church, where in her younger years, played piano and taught bible school. Edith is remembered by her honky tonk style piano playing at square dances and fiddlers conventions. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers. There will be no services held.
