Edmond Calvin Robertson

Edmond Calvin Robertson, age 88 has made the journey to his eternal home. He is preceded in death by his devoted wife of 68 years, Eva Robertson; his mother, Lillie Mae Hunt; father, Jim Walter Robertson; four brothers, Henry, James, Tom and Walter Robertson; four sisters, Dora, Mazor, Ruth, and Kate. Surviving is one sister, Mildred Chitwood; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Diane Robertson, four daughters, Peggy Robertson Housman, Linda Robertson, Carol Hall, Moose, and Sheila Robertson. Survivors also include special nieces Caroline, Monkey and nephew, Eddie. Edmond was the man who everyone knew you could count on even if he didn’t know you. Whether it was delivering firewood, plow a field or sit back and pick a tune on his banjo. He was a great provider and a wonderful friend to anyone he ever met. He always said “ There will never be another Edmond”, and he was exactly right. He will be missed by many, but will leave a legacy behind with his four grandchildren, Kimberly Ledbetter, Cindy Jones, Cristi Abner, and Josh Hall. Five great-grandchildren, Kendra and Kelsie Ledbetter, Brandon Jones, Dalton and Madison Turner. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Chapel 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016 with Pastor Ronald Coleman and Rev. Eddie Hawks officiating. Interment will follow in the Robertson Family cemetery. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service, S. Main St. Rocky Mount, VA.
