Edna Nichols Handy

Edna Nichols Handy, age 80 of Rocky Mount went to be with her Lord Thursday, April 15, 2021. She was preceded in death by eight siblings; her father and mother, Thurman and Victoria Nichols. Surviving are her three sons, Elmer, Timothy (Betty, “her only daughter”) and Ed; a very special niece, Catherine “Sissy” Wood; three grandchildren, Matthew (Jessie), Sara (J.W.), Donnie; two great-grandchildren, Reid and Ryann; three sisters, Bessie Peters (Eugene), Glendola Midkiff, Della Price and one brother, Bud Nichols (Shelby Jean), in laws, Cecil and Elaine Handy, Kenneth and Linda Handy, Andrew Green, several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Carilion Hospice for their wonderful care and concern. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Cooper Family Cemetery with Rev.
