Edna Smith Houston, age 95 of Rocky Mount, passed away on July 16, 2007.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Bertha Brown Smith; her beloved husband, Daniel Stafford Houston; her sisters, Ola Smith Board and Ruth Smith Cundiff; her brothers, John Roy Smith and William Ballard Smith.
Survivors include her dear sister Maora Smith Brown; a sister-in-law Myrtle Perdue Houston; special nieces Linda B. and Billy Call, Debbie B. and Glen Montgomery, Donna B. and John Vaught, and Lethia H. and Giles Holland; great nieces Stephanie W. Brown, Kimberly M. Gillespie, and Christina S. Couch; many more nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Thursday with Elder Raymond Goad and Elder Marvin Brumfield officiating.
Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
Mrs. Houston was a member of Weatherford Primitive Baptist Church for many years. T
he family respectively requests no food. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lupus Foundation of America, P.O. Box 20244, Roanoke, VA 24018 or to Franklin County Department of Aging Services, 136 Tanyard Rd. Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
Her family will be receiving friends from 1-2 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount
